“We had two bags of Raccoon leaves, seventy-five balls of fire, five high powered red Koopa shells, a salt shaker half full of starbits, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored mushrooms; 1-uppers, dashers & shrinkers. Also a warp flute, a Cape Feather from Peach, a carton of Yoshi eggs, one Ice Flower and two banana peels. Not that we needed all this for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious power-up collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that worried me was the Ice Flower. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a middle aged Italian plumber in the depths of a Ice binge. And I knew we’d get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.”
